Is the Mothman linked to aliens?

Mothman is thought to be a winged, human like creature. Depending on what reports or information you gather you will hear a wide assortment of explanations as to what this supposed creature is, and where it originates. Some claim that the Mothman, Chupacabra and other odd creatures are of alien origins and have nothing to do with demons or evil.
The most prevalent sightings of the Mothman have been in Point Pleasant, an area of West Virginia. However, sightings have also been reported elsewhere. The first publically known sighting occurred in 1965 by the son of a woman living near the Ohio River. The son called the creature he saw an Angel, and as most mothers are inclined to do, discounted it. No doubt assuming her son saw something that could easily be explained, if he saw anything at all.
The most disturbing part of the sightings that have been publicly reported comes by way of the types of people that have reported seeing the creature. Many are sane, productive members of society that have nothing in their history to suggest they are anything but honest. Many have stated that in the areas where the Mothman has been seen, other phenomenon have also occurred, including UFO sightings and even the mysterious eye witnessed accounts of Men in Black figures in the area. People have come to believe that the Mothman may also be seen just prior to a disaster of some type.
Although most will say the Mothman is simply a Snow Owl or large crane, those who have claimed to have seen it, also claim to know the difference between a crane, an owl, and a creature as described by many as, the Mothman. Could the Mothman creature have been placed here by beings from outer space? Is the intention to study how we all react to the creature when it makes it's presence known randomly? Could the Mothman, Chupacabra and Big foot all be deliberately placed on this planet, to gauge mankind's preparedness for the future introduction, to aliens from elsewhere?
