SyFy Show 'Paranormal Witness' covers the Travis Walton Story

One of the most compelling stories of alien abduction to occur in the recent history of man's existence may have very well been the story of what happened to Travis Walton.
If you have ever seen the movie 'Fire in the Sky' then you are possibly familiar with the Travis Walton story for which the movie was based. It covers one of the most interesting cases of alien abduction ever alleged and corroborated by more than just the actual victim. On the most recent airing of the SyFy show 'Paranormal Witness' all the men involved with the story, were all seen and heard describing their personal experience of what happened on that fateful night on November 5th 1975 in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in Arizona.

The story describes the events that led up to one of the most believable and heavily investigated cases of alien abduction to have ever been on record. What separates the Travis Walton story from many is the fact that there were witnesses to the abduction. His co workers were there, described seeing the unidentified flying object as it came across their path as they were driving home from a day of logging. Travis Walton exited the vehicle and was struck down by a beam from the hovering craft. The remaining loggers in the car, compelled by absolute terror and certain that Walton was dead take off and fled the scene. For five days police looked for Walton and investigated each of the men that were traveling home that evening suspecting foul play.

All men that were involved in the case were given polygraph tests and all but one passed, with the remaining one failing to complete the test at the time. Later the remaining witness did agree to take the test and not surprisingly also passed. Travis Walton shocked the small town of Snowflake Arizona when he suddenly showed up after a mysterious absence of five days. A medical exam revealed a loss of weight, a small red spot on the interior of his elbow and strangely enough a lack of key tones in his urine. This would suggest that Walton was kept alive, but obviously not fed. Blood work did not detect the presence of any drugs in Walton's system. The medical exam would be a source of debate in the Walton story, however, the fact remains, in all the years since this incident occurred not one member of the logging team have deviated from their original story. There is also no evidence to support anything to the contrary, in spite of countless investigations by many.

Alien abduction or lucid dreams?

(Photo credit: Wikipedia) I decided I'd do a little research on alien abductions and see what I could dig up for my readers. Sadly, a lot of it was silly, couldn't be crossed checked or was simply b.s. I did run across a concept through my research that bears some discussion and perhaps some thought regarding alien abductions.

Having never been abducted myself, (not to my knowledge anyway) it is hard for me to understand how the whole process takes places, seemingly always in the dead of night, while the abductee is sleeping. Now I do know there are documented cases where the abductees claim to have been fully awake when the abduction occurs initially, but they always, emerge from the experience “waking up.” There never is a story that indicates that the abductee walks straight into a police station after getting beamed back down to earth. So even if they were initially awake, the abduction seems to “end” when the abductee rouses from some sort of unconsciousness, or sleep.

So naturally I am interested in this latest theory/explanation that the abduction is the actual result of a lucid dream? Is that possible? How about the well documented case of Betty and Barney Hill, who both allege that they were abducted by aliens in 1961? They both couldn't possibly be having the same lucid dream could they? Not likely. Reports do indicate though, that Betty Hill did have very vivid dreams 10 days after the abduction.

One then has to recall also the wildly reported story of the four men in Allagash Maine that also claimed to have encountered a large glowing object while  camping in the Allagash wilderness in 1976. I have personally been to that part of Maine, and I can tell you from first hand experience, it's very, well, different. You do get the sense that you're in a movie sequel to the Deliverance when you're there. At any rate this too, was a widely reported incident and again, can four young men have the same lucid dreams, at the same time?

It may yet still be a relevant explanation for many that have claimed alien abduction, and like with most reports, videos, pictures, the majority of actual authentic cases are quite small. One has to make every effort to rule out all other rational explanations, and lucid dreams has a place on that list. However, where there are more than one involved, one has to go another route. What say you?

Some researchers and scientist claim these lucid dreams started a long time ago, and were implanted in the imagination via comic strips and alien stories and movies, but my question is, where did they get those ideas from? If you study some Egyptian art and early renderings from long ago, you'll see they were drawing these space men way back then..who planted that idea? Surely not a movie, or watching too many Star Trek episodes.
