We believe the energy that is given off by legitmate mediums often attract spirit energy that may go over looked by investigators and could very well enhance the investigation of a haunting.
Our question to our readers is this, would you like to see shows like Ghost Hunters use a medium on their investigations, or do you feel it would somehow lessen the credibility of the group? TPB would love to see GH use mediums. Ghost Hunters managed to "fall from grace" after their 2008 Halloween special where it is widely believed a string was used to "tug on Grant Wilson's coat.'' Since then the show has certainly changed and some readers suspect that fall from grace led to Grant Wilson leaving the show.
The reason we bring this up, is to say, should GH stop trying to act like they are above reproach and go ahead and bring in some new perspective..the only way they can undo the harm from the 2008 debaucle is to produce a show that has some great interest, good investigation and some verifiable proof is always great..so we say, sure why not..What say you? Our readers?
Show is based purely on science so not sure this would be a good fit for them. However, it would have to be a medium that was totally believable. I happen to like Amy Allen. I happen to be one of those people who has experienced the paranormal since a toddler. So I am not a skeptic but can understand those who are. If GH could find an investigator who is also a medium I probably would enjoy the show more. You can't base everything on science because the paranormal is so much more than that.
ReplyDeleteExactly how we feel, since the paranormal by definition is beyond what man and his limitations of science can produce, it seems more prudent to go ahead and utilize the best tools we have at our disposal for tapping into the unknown, and that in fact would be mediums. Basing things strictly on science is a limitation, in our opinion..the show is continuously under scrutiny any way, so why not take it to another level.
DeleteDo you know what gets me most about the show~the fact when they ask questions or wants the spirit to communicate with them, when they hear something they jump, freak or react strange to something they asked for~which by the way we very seldom hear. I think having a psychic on the show would actually be a good idea because that way perhaps more progress can be accomplished.
ReplyDeleteEva, Do you know that is also a pet peeve of ours too? We've seen this on countless shows that claim to be "seasoned" investigators, and yet, a few knocks, a disembodied voice and you have them reacting in a very unprofessional way like they don't even believe in what they are doing themselves. GH seems to be spinning their wheels right now,and some of their debunking techniques are too broad and sweeping as well. I say bring new life to the show by adding psychic input, it can make their investigations more legit in our book :)
DeleteYes, I agree. That reaction always baffles me. Especially from seasoned investigators. The only thing that concerns me is that there is true evil out there and it sure as hell is not going to make an appearance on command. How can an investigation be truly successful without a medium? I think most of the people who watch these shows can only except so much. The truth is too unbelievable. I watch the shows because I find them entertaining sure don 't need the enlightenment.
