We've been tuning into Ghost Hunters since Grant Wilson departed to try and get a feel as to whether the show has been affected in any way with his absence. Initially we thought the show seemed to be a little better however, the last show we tuned into seemed to be a let down on some levels. It's still a lot of the same old same old...as it goes. However we know some of our readers are still big fans and we want to know what your thoughts are regarding the new season with out Grant. Tell us, better ? or ?
I think that the show is better without Grant so far... with that being said, I wonder who will step up and take his place. I think the shows so far this season seem to be more based on the roots of when their show started. I like what they've done lately and think that they have had some incredible finds, especially last night's show.
ReplyDeleteA reader on another post on this site made a similar observation, stating that they noticed increased activity since Grant left. I hope it is going back to its grass roots, maybe they are listening to their fans.
DeleteFor entertainment value, I'm pleased that they're getting more results. From a skeptic's point of view: I wonder why they're getting so much activity now that Grant is gone, versus when he was here. I don't necessarily see it as a good thing. Makes me question the credibility of the players involved. Did Grant hinder, or did he hold a stricter measure to the supposed evidence? Either way, it's entertaining.
ReplyDeleteThe part that is intriguing about this whole show and the points you mentioned is that they have "hinted" that now that Grant is gone there were rule changes...whatever that means??? To me it is almsot a "clue" if you will as to what the real reason was behind Wilson's departure in the first place. I agree as well, for entertainment purposes, it is fun to see increased activity, but like you, from the skeptic point of view..you have to wonder with a raised eyebrow...could this be a way to possibly improve ratings since Wilson's departure may have increased a ratings drop?? Thanks for you input and letting us know your observations "She that is Me"... always appreciated :)
DeleteHonestly, I can't watch the show anymore. We are left with two very pompous and conceited individuals,(Steve and Jason) and the show just seems so empty. I was growing old of the show anyway, "Hey, did you hear that?" "Is anybody there?" "What was that?" etc. I've done some growing up since the show began and it seems so lame now. Grant was a class act, the genuine article, no airs or posturing, just professional investigating. I really looked up to him. Steve seems like such a sneaky opportunist and Jason is so full of himself that there is no balance between the team. And then all the new characters, they really lack personality. Yeah, I'll continue to watch "Ghost Hunters," the reruns when the show was a class act! Sorry guys, but I think Grant was smart to leave before the show loses it's luster. All I can say is, dudes, you really should stop while your show is still afloat, you're just going to ruin it for the entire paranormal genre...
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment. I think Grant jumped what we think is a sinking ship and sometimes that is the smartest thing to do. The show started going down a slippery slope a while back when they started having celebrity guest investigators. The original show had certain elements that made it a big success that just aren't there anymore. Many of our readers have mirrored your thoughts on Jason being too full of himself, Steve we agree seems opportunistic and was eager to get rid of Brian Harnois.
DeleteTPB called out way back for the show to return to the way it was before, when their key interest was in helping families that had sincere problems. We also agree that after so many years of GH investigating, the fact they are still walking around talking through an entire investigation, and forever asking "What was that?" etc, etc, etc....it gets a little old.
